Vampires

Stronger than most, and have to be turned in order to become one. They cannot be born. Vampires cannot possess magic, but can work within the magical community. They must drink blood in order to live and cannot be out in the sun. If they do go out into the sun they DO NOT sparkle, they burst into flames.
Werewolves

Stronger than most, but only during the full moon. They cannot be born and have to be turned but can be magical. During the full moon, it is encouraged that a werewolf seeks refuge in the Shrieking Shack to keep from hurting anyone.
Veelas

A full veela is becoming extremely rare, but someone with a partial blood is allowed. They are magical and sometimes known for a hot temper. Veelas are almost always women, but sometimes there is a male. The opposite sex is typically drawn to someone with veela blood more than they usually would.
Legilimens

Legilimency is the ability to extract “emotions and memories” from someone. A legilimens cannot extract emotions/memories in the sense that they remove said memories – they can simply read and interpret them. Perhaps obviously, it is easier to use legilimency on someone who is relaxed or weakened in some way. Eye contact is almost always required. Legilimency brings memories to the surface of someone’s mind though these memories are not always relevant and it takes talent to bring the relevant memories to the surface to be read.

Occlumency is a branch of magic used to block the mental intrusion of a legilimens and other branches of magic meant to penetrate the mind. It is the only way to block the attack of a legilimens without avoiding physical nearness and eye contact, though the age of an occlumens is directly linked with the success at blocking a legilimens out.. an occlumens must be able to fully clear their mind giving the legilimens nothing to latch onto.

Metamorphmagi are born not made. They have the ability to change their appearance by willing the change to happen. You can not suddenly become a metamorphmagus.
Animagi

An animagus can take the form of a single animal. This animal always has distinguishing marks that are representative of the witch or wizard. Training to become an animagus takes time and practice, so only adults can possess this skill. It is a highly advanced form of transfiguration that requires registration with the Ministry of Magic.
