Kyubok straighten his robes and closed the door behind him, he had been on call for the third level all day and he was exhausted from it. Dealing with poisons was not something he liked to do, since most of the time the medicine to stop the poison from spreading caused vomiting. He narrowly missed a well aimed projectile from a six year old witch who got into her mother's potions supplies. He headed down the hallway and stopped by the nurses station to find out where he was supposed to go next, apparently he was supposed to work with another Healer named Meleny Aldridge who was supposed to help him get used to the new floor. He waited by the elevator for her to come up, completely unsure of who he was supposed to meet.
The first three people all looked at him weird when he asked for Meleny Aldridge, the fourth and fifth were older gentlemen who gave him even weirder looks when he asked. He sighed and found an old pamphlet about dragon pox and one of the markers from his robes and wrote her name on it, holding it up like a cab driver at the airport. He stood waiting with a cheeky grin and waited for the other healer to find him.

Meleny left the lobby after Nikolai left and took the elevator to the third level to do whatever she needed to do there. This was the ward for poisonings. Meleny had a feeling her job was about to get very messy from this point forward but she was trained to deal with anything her job threw at her. She hoped she hadn't kept whoever was on that floor waiting long. She couldn't stop thinking of how it felt when Nikolai held her earlier.
As she waited for the elevator to arrive at her destination she tried desperately to clear her thoughts of tonight's date. She needed to focus on the task at hand. She remembered his parting words to her as the elevator arrived at the floor. He told her not to get stuck at her next task too long. She hoped that wouldn't happen either but she would just see what would happen. Even though she hated the messy jobs she was given she did it without complaint because she liked to help people even though she wished she had been asked to do something else. She would help this healer on the third level though because she liked her job despite how demanding it got.
The doors of the elevator opened and Meleny looked around for who she was supposed to be working with. She spotted him holding up a pamphlet with her name on it like a cab driver. Meleny couldn't help but giggle at that. She didn't know why it was funny but she needed to drop the school girl attitude and get serious again. She walked over to the other healer. "Hey. I'm Meleny. Are you who I'm supposed to be working with? I've seen you around but I don't think I ever caught your name." she said.

Kyubok watched various healers and patients walk past him, sighing when he started to get concerned about when he would actually find this healer he was supposed to be working with. He noticed some of the patients smiled at him as they passed by and it made his smile broader. He was a nice and easy going guy, he just wanted to help people which is what led him to becoming a Healer. He watched the elevator open again, almost becoming discouraged. He wasn't even sure why he needed a partner today, he had been a healer for almost six years in the same hospital, now they wanted him on a different floor he suddenly needed to be retrained? It was kinda annoying, but he would do anything to keep his amazing job.
The woman stepping out of the elevator had dark brown hair and clear blue eyes, her robes were similar to his own and she smiled when she saw the sign and approached him. Kyubok stood up straight from his leaning post against the wall and smiled back at her, "Hi Meleny, I'm Kyubok." He held his hand out for her to shake and smiled broadly, "It's nice to meet you, yeah, they sent me up here for training on this floor and they said that you were the best to talk to. I guess they want you to give me the crash course."

Meleny shook Kyubok's hand. "Nice to meet you too." she said. She listened to him explain why she had been summoned here. She was shocked to hear that the staff thought she was the best person to show this new healer around the new floor. She thought they wanted her to assist him with some case on this floor but she figured she would have to do that eventually. "Sure I can do that. Um..I've never really shown a new healer around before but I'll try my best. How have you been making out on this floor so far?" she asked. She was curious. She didn't know what to tell him but she would try. This wasn't the ward for magical illnesses but for some reason she felt safer on this floor wearing a muggle surgeon's mask which she had completely forgotten to put on in her haste.

He smiled at her, "Well I'm not exactly new, I've been working here for about six years, but I'm usually on level one. I deal with creature-created injuries." He was a specialist in were attacks, since he wasn't afraid of contacting their blood. He worked hard and he knew the risks, but after a rabid werewolf bit him, the leaders of the hospital wanted him cross trained onto another floor. "Got bit one too many times, and the hospital thought it would be best if they gave me some leave from my floor." He hated that he was being kept from his floor and from the people who needed him, but he wasn't one to fight the hospital. "I've been okay, then again mostly I went to the nurses station and then the elevator to find you." He smiled and put the pamphlet in the trash can. "Want to show me around and we'll just keep talking?"

"Sure." she stated and started walking. "Why did they want you on Plants and Poisonings?" she asked curiously. She figured it made sense to have him leave his floor if he had gotten bit too many times by a rabid werewolf. If the werewolf was rabid she could only deduce that the staff thought he was rabid and it was too dangerous to keep him on creature-induced injuries. "I don't really have any one speciality. I can be at any ward when I'm needed there. I have two friends that work with me here, a brother and sister named McKenna." she explained. "Since this is the poisonings floor I don't know why but I always feel safer on this floor wearing a muggle surgeon's mask. It's not magical illnesses so I doubt anyone on this floor is contagious but in my experience its just safer since anything can happen. I hate the messy jobs but I'll be wherever I'm needed even if the job is messy. I remember the first time I was on call on this floor it took me forever to find the right potion to stop the poison from spreading on this one patient and three of my uniforms got ruined from being thrown up on constantly. I still hadn't learned how to dodge the projectiles on time. Sometimes I feel like magical illnesses is the worst ward to be on call on. The patients are contagious and I had to put one patient in a magically induced coma to help him recover because he was so bad off." she explained. "It's a tiring job sometimes." she stated as an after thought. "If you're ever on call all night there's on call rooms for the doctors of the ward to get some sleep before they are summoned again. I've had to go there a few times whenever I've been on call all night."
Meleny thought about his story of being bitten by a rabid werewolf too many times. She wondered what that must've been like and if he had been in any pain. She always wondered things like that when people mentioned things that sounded like painful experiences. She also remembered a time when she was on call on the ward Kyubok used to work on. Meleny had dealt with a patient with a bad spider bite. It was a terrifying experience for her. She heard other healers say his bite might've been poisonous and would need to be transferred to the ward where they are now, poisonings. Sometimes she wondered if the maladies and injuries the patients had ever crossed wards like that and one ward didn't have sufficient equipment to treat the present condition so the patient needed to be transferred to another. Meleny had managed to save that patient giving him potions and such for the pain which helped him sleep like a baby at night. Meleny sometimes wished there was more than one of her. She couldn't be everywhere at once and she tried to meet every patient's needs on every ward and she watched over them some nights to see how they were doing when she wasn't needed elsewhere.

Kyubok laughed when she asked why they would put him on this floor, "Nothing to bite me here." He walked along with the girl, enjoying her company. Then again, he would enjoy the company of any friend at this point. First level tended to get very rushed and crazy that moments of just walking around were rare. He did listen to what she said about walking around with a surgeon's mask and took it into consideration, he wasn't usually one to make a big deal over germs and since this was a hospital, if he caught anything he could just take some medicine and go right back to work. It was pretty hard to keep a good Kyubok down. He made a mental note of where the wards were, since he didn't have a girlfriend, wife, or children, they often liked to keep him here over night. "Seems cozy." He knew the beds were probably hard as rocks and the blankets less than warm and fuzzy, but it was a bed and after an eighteen hour shift, sometimes beggars couldn't be choosers.
"So, you've successfully shown me all around, how about you tell me a little about yourself, Miss. Meleny."

"Eh. The beds in the on call rooms are cozyish I suppose. But where else are we supposed to sleep after a ridiculously long shift? But they do for when I've been working one of those graveyard shifts." she stated. Meleny was taken aback when Kyubok had asked her to tell him about herself. No one had ever asked that of her before. She didn't really have anything rehearsed for a question like that. "Well um...What would you like to know? I can't recall anyone ever having asked me that before so I don't really have anything rehearsed to say. But well I guess we can talk about Hogwarts. You went there, I assume? I was in Gryffindor, class of 1997 and I loved to play Quidditch. I still love Quidditch but never wanted to go professional. How about you tell me about yourself?"

He smiled listening to her talk about her personal life story, he smiled, knowing that almost every witch and wizard who lives in England went to Hogwarts. "Actually no, I went to school is Seoul. I moved here with my family when I was nineteen." He smiled and tried to think of other things to talk about, "Well, as I said, I grew up in Seoul, South Korea. I have two little sisters and a brother, they all go to Hogwarts. Two are in Gryffindor and the other is in Ravenclaw." He shifted back and forth on his feet to think of other things to talk about, "I love muggle movies, especially horror movies. I love music and just spending time with my siblings. Oh! I wanted to be a healer because I wanted to be able to help people and I worked with creature caused injuries because a friend of mine was attacked by a banshee when we were kids and the healers who helped her saved her life. I wanted to grow up and be them." He smiled and looked over at her, "That's me, anything else you want to know?"

"I have a sister too. One twin, a psychotic little bitch she is. She was in Slytherin when we went to Hogwarts. She wanted to be a Death Eater like our father when Voldemort was still in power. My father killed my mother when I was sixteen, about to go to my sixth year at Hogwarts. At least they are both in azkaban now." she stated. As she thought of these things she wondered if Nikolai would ask her to talk about herself on their date tonight. Dates usually required some form of small talk but since they were friends she hoped he already knew about her sister. She didn't like talking about her too much even if she was locked away in azkaban. "I wish I had a normal sister. I would've given anything to have that kind of relationship where we just spend time with each other. But no my twin sister loved to cause me nothing but misery. I think what made me become a healer was all the pain I had go through with my family and the suffering they had brought upon the world. I wanted to help end other people's suffering. That's what I had in my head at graduation but I worked for the auror department at the ministry first before they started going crazy. They overstepped so many boundaries that finally I had had enough so I resigned from the Ministry and started working here."

Kyubok just watched her as she talked, suddenly all of those little fights with his sisters seemed like child's play. Her sister was evil and crazy. Her father killed her mother, what the hell? "Wow, sounds like you had a crazy life." The worst thing that ever happened to him was the girl he wanted to marry ran off with his best friend. That's it. No homicide, no Azkaban. His one sister once ran away for a few nights but that's really it. He wasn't sure what else to say to this girl now that she unloaded all of this onto him. His family was small and happy, never any drama as far as he knew. "Do you have a significant other?" He wasn't trying to hit on her, just trying to get to know a new friend.

"yeah. it was crazy. I'm glad my life has settled down somewhat. Because of this thing with the ministry my aunt wants to cut me out of her life for rebelling against the ministry. She thinks they're right and I'm wrong. I mean the ministry has the right idea by trying to protect everyone from a new threat like Voldemort was but they are going about it the wrong way." she explained. "That's the only drama in my life at the moment." she finished her statement. Meleny smiled when he asked her about a significant other. She was reminded of her date tonight and quickly looked at her watch to see what time it was. She hoped she wasn't needed elsewhere after this. She would've hated to keep Nikolai waiting a second longer than necessary. She would've hated if she had to make him wait before they even went out. "Well not yet but a guy I used to work with at the ministry asked me out for tonight. It's my first date ever so who knows where things will go from there. I've never had a boyfriend before. I don't know if I would call him a significant other yet. He's just the first guy ever to ask me out." she explained. She really wished she could stop rambling even if she was no longer in front of Nikolai. She didn't want to end up like a rambling, bumbling school girl in front of him on their date like she was earlier. She didn't care if he thought her ramblings were cute. It mortified her because she was trying to make a good impression on him, not make him regret asking her out in the first place.

Kyubok wasn't quite sure what she was talking about with the ministry. He wasn't sure what she was talking about and what she was getting herself into. He wanted to make sure she was okay, but if she was becoming some anarchist he hoped that she had an exit strategy. He saw a vending machine and put some coins in for a cup of coffee. The coffee dropped down and filled with coffee, cream and sugar. He listened to everything she said about going out with an old coworker and this being her first date, "Really? First date?" He sipped his coffee and watched her, she was a pretty girl, there was no reason that she should be home alone for so many years. "What's his name?" He stirred his coffee with one of the stir sticks on the side of the machine, he leaned against the machine and smiled, enjoying the time getting to know his coworker instead of actually running around. This was only supposed to be a get to know his way around tour anyway, he would meet with patients tomorrow.

Meleny also went towards the vending machine and put some coins in for some coffee. She already had some earlier. Meleny wasn't a caffeine addict or anything even though it helped her a lot when she had to work really late. It would just give her something to do. Her coffee popped out with cream and sugar. She stirred her coffee and then looked over at Kyubok when he spoke. "Yes. My first date. I'm really excited." she said practically bursting at the seams with excitement. "His name is Nikolai Amsel." she replied in answer to his question and then sipped her coffee.

Kyubok smiled when she mentioned the name, "He's a professor at the school right? My siblings mentioned that he's new, but pretty good." He didn't know much about the Hogwarts system, since he went to school in Seoul. "It's nice that the two of you have been friends and are going out together. I'm sure you had a bit of a crush on him, since you've been blushing every time I ask about him." He smirked, he was always good at getting information out of people that he wanted. Since he wanted to be friends with Meleny, he was pretty sure some light teasing would be okay. He didn't have a love interest yet, but he was hoping to meet someone soon. He missed knowing everyone, but he knew that his family moving to England was the best for his siblings. "What time is your date? I'll make sure you get out of here on time."
