Meleny thought about what he said about it being serious when she met his sister. She definitely agreed with that and she wanted to get serious with him. She couldn't wait until that happened. "Yeah and I know this is the first date and everything but I do want to get serious with you just at our own pace. I don't want to rush anything and scare you off." she stated. "but I will be ready to get serious whenever you are." she told him. "Saving people's life is definitely an added bonus at my job." she said happily. She looked over at the waitress when she questioned her. "Chicken Parmesan." she told the waitress.

Nikolai was happy that they were on the same page about wanting to be serious with each other. "I've kinda had a crush on you since I met you. I've wanted tonight to happen for a very long time." he smiled and laughed when she said that saving people was just an added bonus. He leaned back on his chair and thought about why he would have become a professor, "And all I get to do is grade essays and prevent inter-house duels." He smiled at the leaving waitress and smiled back at Meleny, enjoying her company. "So we've covered siblings, your parents, and former schools. Anything else in your dramatic history I should know?" he asked with a smile.

Meleny smiled at him. She was quite flattered to hear that he had a crush on her since he met her. It made her really happy to hear that. "That's a funny conicidience. I've kind of had a crush on you since I met you too and also wanted tonight to happen for a long time." she said and giggled slightly. "Well grading essays doesn't sound like much fun but you need to prevent those inter-house duels." she said matter of factly. "So there's no special reason you wanted to become a professor?" she asked. Meleny thought about what he had asked her. What else should he know. You mean other than the fact that my own sister is a psychotic bitch locked away in azkaban never to be heard from again? I got nothing. she thought to herself but that was not the response she gave aloud. "Well I can't think of anything other than that my aunt that still works for the ministry won't talk to me because of this whole rebellion thing." she said. She can't remember if it came up during their conversation at the hospital.

Nikolai leaned across the table and smiled at her, he tilted her chin up towards him and captured her lips with his own. He was just happy that she felt the same way he did. He kissed her softly and then sat back down smiling. He cared about her deeply and he wanted to be with her. Everything made him happy about her. "I guess it has something to do with wanting to be closer to my baby sister. I'm a bit older than Calina, so we never got that sibling time together when we were kids." He smiled and thought about it for a little bit, "Oh I have a cousin I'm rather close to. He drives me crazy, but we were always together when we were kids. His father is my father's brother, his name is Vasch Amsel. He's in Germany studying veelas or something." He smiled at her and sighed slightly when she said that her aunt disowned her for the rebellion, "I'm sorry that happened to you, love."

Meleny smiled into the kiss. She was so excited to get her first kiss with the man she's liked for ages now. She didn't want him to pull away even though he was sitting directly across from her. She enjoyed that brief moment of closeness. Meleny could understand him wanting to be closer to his sister and she could see his reasons. As a professor he could watch over her and make sure she didn't get into any trouble while at school. However she assumed quality time might be hard to come by because he has classes to teach and essays to grade and she has classes and homework. "Don't you ever worry that teaching brings you two further apart? I mean I can see the perks of being her brother and a professor. You can watch over her closely at school and make sure she doesn't get into any trouble but doesn't the fact that you have classes to teach and grading and she has classes and homework make it even more difficult for you two to spend time together?" she asked. Meleny was intrigued to learn he had a cousin. Meleny had no idea who any of her cousins or maybe she just forgot who they were if she had any. Her aunt who disowned her was not married so no cousins to speak of on her mother's side. "Drives you crazy how?" she asked. "I have no clue who my cousins are. I never met them on my father's side and my aunt who disowned me isn't married." she stated. "I'm sorry it happened too. She reminded me of my mother a lot and we were very close before this whole rebellion. Now if she ever does get married some day I will never get to meet the cousins that come out of the marriage because she will tell them I'm a bad influence or something. " she said. Meleny couldn't believe how much of this date was spent talking about her horrible past or her current drama or it just seemed that way to her. However it made her feel better to get these things off her chest.

Nikolai smiled when she asked if the working at the school was harming his relationship with Calina, "Well, at the very least I can watch out for the boys who try to hit on her and make their lives hell." So far he didn't have that problem, since he would make it very clear that Calina was his baby sister and that he was well versed in both Defense of the Dark Arts, and the Dark Arts. He was sure that Calina was annoyed by it, but he had been protective over her since she was born. When she asked more about Vasch he smiled a little less, "Vasch is like my big brother, and he never lets me forget it. His mother had some medical problems when he was a kid, so my parents took care of him a lot. He does this thing where he lies to my mom to get me in trouble, even now. He's borderline sociopath, but I still love him." He had no idea why, but he did. "Anyway, so long as he keeps to his side of Europe, I'm happy." He did feel bad that his ideas were pulling her away from her family, but it wasn't like he ever forced her to leave her job. She did that before they even met, "Guess we both have family issues. Might be why we're good together."

Meleny noticed he smiled less when she asked him more about Vasch. "I'm sorry. Maybe I shouldn't have asked if it upsets you that much to talk about him." she told him. Meleny was shocked to learn that his cousin had lied to get Nikolai in trouble. To Meleny it sounded exactly like something Jezebel would do. Since they were twins she could use that to her advantage if she really wanted to get Meleny in trouble. "that sounds like something my sister would do, lie to get me in trouble. If she was still around she probably would. Since we are identical twins she could use the fact that she looks just like me to her advantage and find some way to get me in trouble. I don't know if I would call her a sociopath but she definitely acts like one. I always prefer to call her psychotic." she explained. "I would say I love her but she is just an unlovable person and I hate to say that about my own family but nothing about her is lovable. I would love her if she wasn't crazy and she never loved me. I think its more than just family issues that brought us together. It's the cause to fight against the ministry and probably other things I'm not aware of." she said with a laugh.

He knew he was being slightly unfair to Vasch, "He's not too terrible, he's like an annoying older brother. He's protected me a few times. When he was in his final year at Durmstrang, I was in my first. A lot of people wanted to beat him up, older students mainly, claiming it was a right of passage for Durmstrang. Vasch made them all leave him alone, though he did have to do some of his homework as payment for the protection. "Sounds like your sister is on the other side of sociopath." He was happy that her sister was out of her life, it seemed like it would make everything better for her in the long run, being away from that sort of person. The waitress came back with their food and drinks, Nikolai smiled and thanked her and smiled at Meleny, "Let's eat."

Meleny definitely agreed that Jezebel was on the other side of sociopath and she was glad she was out of her life. She was thinking the exact same thing as Nikolai; that her absence from her life would definitely be better for her in the long run. Jezebel had often told her things would be better for her too with Meleny out of her life or at the very least never having been born. Her cruel words sometimes still upset her to this day but it wasn't like Meleny hadn't wished Jezebel was never born either as cruel as that sounded. But the twins had no love for each other so she shouldn't feel guilty about that. She didn't begrudge her mother having twins. It just happened that way. She just wished her twin sister could've been a lot more normal and more like her best friend instead of a crazy psychopath. However with her father as evil as he was it seemed insane to have such a wish. Jezebel had unfortunately been blessed with every single bit of her father's personality and evilness.1] If her mother had married someone else her sister would not have been evil or she could've been an only child. When Jezebel was in her life Meleny had wished many times she was an only child. Meleny returned Nikolai's smile. "Yes. Let's. that pasta with pesto sauce looks good." she told Nikolai. She let out a weak laugh and felt weird for ogling Nikolai's plate when she had her own food in front of her. Italian food was her number one weakness and she loved it no matter what the dish. She picked up the fork beside her plate and started eating the chicken parmesan.

Nikolai picked up his fork and knife, twirling some of the basil and oil soaked pasta around his fork, holding it out for her, "Want to try a bite? It's very good here." He held his fork out, a universal sign that she could just bite it off his fork. It wasn't like he was worried about germs, since he wanted to do nothing but kiss her for the rest of the night. He would be lying if he said that he didn't want to have sex with her, because he did. He thought about it often, and even thought about wanting a future with her. He wanted a family with her and he couldn't wait until he had a future with her. Sure, they were just starting to date, but they knew each other for so long that he felt like it had been much longer.
Sorry it's short

Meleny smiled at him. "Sure I'll try some." she said and bit the pasta off his fork. Meleny was not worried about germs either. She too wanted to kiss him for the rest of the night and eventually have sex with him but she was afraid to admit it. She didn't want him to think they were rushing into things too fast. Meleny was excited to get a bite of his food. It was kind of like how you see couples in cheesy romantic movies feed each other. Meleny would be lying if she didn't admit she was kind of a romance movie buff. It was her guilty pleasure and she knew some men thought those movies were cheesy and wouldn't want to sit through one. She was afraid to find out that Nikolai was one of those men who didn't like to sit through a romance movie so she kept that bit of information to herself even though it would probably come out eventually. She didn't want to get hurt if the guy she liked wouldn't sit through a romance movie which sounded kind of silly to her since he seemed to like her a lot. Meleny often imagined sitting with her guy watching a romance movie and cuddling and making out. It was such a silly thing to imagine to her because it made her seem like a flighty young girl and a hopeless romantic. She had always been one and she never thought she would find her perfect guy until Nikolai came along. As soon as she swallowed the pasta she smiled again. "You're right. It is good. Want to try the parmesan?" she asked and forked a piece for him and held out her fork to him to bite the parmesan off.

To be completely honest, he wasn't the type of guy who would go out of his way to watch a romantic movie. He was pretty sure that they were called chick flicks for a reason, though he wouldn't act like a stubborn asshole if she wanted to watch one. He was just trying to do what he could to be a romantic boyfriend on their first date. He pulled his fork away from her and smiled when she said that it tasted good, "I'm glad you like it." He smiled when she offered up a bite of her chicken, he opened his mouth and took a bite off her fork, "That is amazing. I'm glad you like the food here." He chewed the chicken and sipped his wine. "So besides organizing a revolution, what else do you like doing outside of work?"

Meleny smiled and watched as he sipped the wine. Meleny was not much of a wine drinker or any alcohol drinker for that matter and she wasn't a wine aficionado either but she figured wines had to go with certain meals to complement them. She took another bite of the chicken parmesan as she thought about his question. Well she figured now was as good a time as any to admit that she liked romance movies. "Well, um.. this is going to sound really weird to you and probably won't interest you at all but I like to watch romance movies. I've always been a hopeless romantic before I found you and I just thought it was a fun thing to do." she said. She ate another piece of chicken to hide her shame at admitting such a thing to a guy. She knew full well he wouldn't be interested in romance movies. As she thought of these things she also wondered what if he wasn't the type of guy who liked to cuddle? Meleny had always wanted a guy to cuddle with indoors when it was raining or snowing and it wasn't perfect outside weather. She had never been cuddled by anyone before but she wondered what it would feel like. She assumed it would feel wonderful and make her feel safe and warm.

Nikolai smiled when she admitted that she loved romance movies, it was never something he would watch on his own, but he would if someone wanted to. Calina got him to watch a few with their mother and he supposed they were alright. He wouldn't cry like they would but he would appreciate the love and devotion between people no matter what. "Calina and my mother get me to watch those movies sometimes. They're not terrible or anything." He said with a shrug and hoped that would be a good enough answer for her. He was a bit of a typical man, so he would do anything to really please the girl he was in love with. "I like watching a good movie, cuddling on a couch while it's snowing. Stuff like that." He grew up in Russia, where it was damn cold. Sometimes snuggling next to a friend or a girlfriend was needed to keep warm. At Durmstrang the fires were only lit for ceremony purposes so they wore thick robes with furs to keep warm. "What is your favorite movie?"

Meleny smiled when he said his sister and mother got him to watch romance movies. "I'm glad you think so. I just think they're really cute. I always wanted a romance like the one in those movies." she admitted rather ashamedly. She knew that it would probably give young girls unrealistic expectations about men and she probably had the same unrealistic expectations herself. However she had to admit Nikolai was definitely her idea of the perfect man even though this was only the dinner portion of the date. She had no idea what he had planned afterwards and she fully expected to be literally or figuratively swept off her feet. She would take either one. Meleny was flattered to learn that he liked cuddling. "I like that too even though I've never cuddled with anyone before. I've never been to Russia before. What's it like?" she asked. Meleny chewed on some more parmesan while she thought of what her favorite movie was. "I like so many movies its really hard to pick. I also like comedies besides romance. What kind of movies do you like?" she asked.
